Description: Measurement of blood urea nitrogen. Increased BUN is called uremia, it is one of the signs and symptoms in patients with azotemia secondary to acute or chronic renal failure or disease, it is also increased in congestive heart failure, catabolism, tetracyclins with diuretic use, ketoacidosis, ehydration as in DM, use of corticosteroids and bleeding from gastrointestinal tract.
